Vikings Swipe Defensive Back From Titans' Practice Squad
The Minnesota Vikings are poaching a 2022 NFL Draft pick from the Tennessee Titans in the hopes of boosting their pass defense. The team announced Tuesday it had signed defensive back Theo Jackson off the Titans' practice squad.
Jackson was a sixth-round pick of the Titans earlier this year, but he apparently sees a better opportunity for himself on the Vikings' 53-man roster. The Vikings rank 28th in net yards allowed per passing attempt and recently lost 2022 first-round pick Lewis Cine to a frightening leg injury, so they could use all the help in the secondary they can get.The #Vikings have signed S Theo Jackson (@theo_jackson05) and placed RB Ty Chandler on IR. pic.twitter.com/zTZsI4XWVE

Jackson will likely work his way into meaningful playing time sooner than later, but he'll begin his career with the Vikings competing for snaps with backup safeties Myles Dorn and Josh Metellus.

Jackson joined the Titans as their 204th overall pick after a five-year college career with Tennessee. An athletic, big-bodied defensive back who posted elite pro day numbers, he nabbed three interceptions and totalled 190 tackles in the SEC.
