Texans Wide Receiver Considered Day-to-Day
The Houston Texans may be without one of their most promising young players when they face the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. Wide receiver Nico Collins missed his second straight practice and is considered day-to-day with a groin injury.
Collins injured his groin during the Texans' Week 7 38-20 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He played 30 snaps, down from 40+ in his previous five appearances. Head coach Lovie Smith suggested the injury wouldn't be season-ending, but the team signed wide receiver Tyron Johnson earlier this week to potentially offset Collins' unavailability this week.Nico Collins (groin) is at practice in a jersey, but not practicing. Injury is not regarded as long term he is considered day to day.

Collins joined the Texans as their 89th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. After a promising rookie season, he emerged as a starter and big-play threat this year, nabbing 18 receptions for 305 yards at an efficient 10.2 yards per target over his six appearances. The team will need him to make a quick return, particularly if they intend to trade wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
