Texans Signing Tight End To Active Roster

The Houston Texans, despite being just 1-3-1 in 2022 have been more competitive than many people expected, and with so much youth on the roster, it's hard not to be positive about where this team is headed, but unfortunately, 2022 is going to be a struggle, so fans should look to take all the positives they can from this season.

One of those positive points has been young tight end Jordan Akins, who has been with this team since 2018, when they drafted him in the third round, and after letting him sign with the Giants earlier in the 2022 off-season, the team brought him back. Houston signed him back to the practice squad, but with hard work and good performances on Sunday's, he's fought his way back, and now, the team has signed him to the active squad, with an expanded role a good possibility going forward.

In 2022, Akins has 7 catches for 86 yards and a Touchdown, and over his four year career with Houston, has tallied 1,346 yards to go along with 4 trips to the end zone, and while he's 30-years old already, it's clear that he's got much more to give. The Texans offence this year is likely going to be about finding out what they have in Davis Mills and Dameon Pierce, but if Akins can step up and be a valuable contributor and depth piece going forward, that would be another positive for the 2022 Houston Texans.
