Steelers Rookie Takes Over At QB
The Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten off to an uncharacteristic start in 2022, falling to 1-2 on the season, and despite all of the talent on the offensive side of the ball, they've struggled to put up points in all three of their games so far. This has led to fans calling for the benching of Mitch Trubisky in favour of the No. 20 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Kenny Pickett, and while they didn't get their wish to start the day, the second half of Week 4 appears to be his time.
The former Pitt QB has become a fan favourite in Pittsburgh, and after an impressive pre-season, it seemed to be just a matter of time until the young Quarterback took over as the Steelers starter, and after putting up just six points against the Jets defence in the first half, he is in the game. The #Steelers have made a change: It’s Kenny Pickett in at QB, replacing Mitch Trubisky.

Pickett was the only Quarterback taken in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and in pre-season and all throughout camp, he was reportedly impressing everyone in the building, and while it made sense that Pittsburgh went with the veteran to start the season, Pickett is clearly the future of the franchise. Only time will tell how he does for the Steelers, but right now, Pickett is in the game for Pittsburgh, as it appears the future is now.
