San Francisco 49ers Lose Left Tackle to Knee Injury
The San Francisco 49ers could be nearing a crisis on the left side of their offensive line. With All-Pro Left Tackle Trent Williams already sidelined due to an ankle injury suffered in Week 3, the team was without backup Colton McKivitz for the second half of their Monday Night Football matchup with the Los Angeles Rams due to a knee injury.
McKivitz went down in the first half with and was declared out entering the third quarter. Given Williams is expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a high-ankle sprain, McKivitz's unavailability could loom large for an offense already without starting quarterback Trey Lance. Second-year offensive lineman Jaylon Moore took over at left tackle following McKivitz's departure.#LARvsSF @DignityHealth injury update: OL Colton McKivitz (knee) is out for the remainder of the game.

McKivitz joined the 49ers as their 153rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He appeared in 14 games as a rookie, earning three starts. He has played in four games for the 49ers since, making one start before tonight's contest. His replacement Jaylon Moore came to the Rams as the 155th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and started three games as a rookie. He has managed a ghastly 28.9 Pro Football Focus grade on limited snaps through three weeks of the 2022 NFL season.
