Raiders Offensive Tackle Tears ACL In Practice
The Las Vegas Raiders had a miserable start to the 2022 season, but with a huge win in Week 4 over the Denver Broncos, and the likely return of Hunter Renfrow for Week 5, things are finally starting to look up out in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the team suffered a brutal loss at practice on Thursday, as offensive tackle Justin Herron tore his ACL, and after playing his first game for the team in Week 4, he will miss the remainder of the 2022 season.
Herron was acquired recently in a deal with the New England Patriots, and in Week 4, was more than solid and productive for this team, but today, the team announced the worst, and it appears that the young tackle will be out for a significant amount of time.Sources: The #Raiders are placing newly acquired OT Justin Herron on Injured Reserve after he tore his ACL in practice yesterday. He played last week, his first game, and was productive. Now, out for 2022.

The trade to acquire Herron was a solid, under the radar move for Las Vegas, but unfortunately, all of the good work they did to acquire depth along the offensive line will be for nothing, as they now need to go back to the drawing board. This offence is stacked full of weapons for Derek Carr, but if he can't be protected, those weapons don't get the time and space to work, so for now, the Raiders should survive the unfortunate injury, but look for them to make a subsequent move as they look to push for a play-off spot in 2022.
