Promising Injury Update On Commanders Star Defensive End
He's been out all season.
According to Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera, defensive end Chase Young is ''more than likely'' to be designated to return from the injured reserve on Wednesday.
Chase Young out here. Was told he met with the doc pre-game. Ron Rivera said last week that a preliminary report on Young’s recovery was “pretty good,” and if all checked out today, there’s a chance they can start clock this coming week. pic.twitter.com/6Le9jC6KK0

Young's recovery from a torn ACL and MCL has progressed enough that he is on the verge of a return to the field.
However, it's still unlikely that Young plays Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts, as he will need to build up his conditioning first. Once the twenty-three-year-old is officially designated to return, he'll have a 21-day window to practice with the team before he has to be placed on the active roster.
If Young does indeed miss Week 8 against the Colts, his next opportunity to return to game action will be in Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings.
