Patriots QB Officially Questionable For Sunday

The New England Patriots have had a very strange, up-and-down season thus far, and while they have a perceived lack of weapons on the outside, they've certainly been able to compete with all the issues they've had at Quarterback. Firstly, starter Mac Jones, who was a Pro Bowler in his rookie campaign in 2021 went down, and then his veteran backup Brian Hoyer suffered a concussion, which has all led to the Patriots starting a solid rookie in Bailey Zappe.

After suffering a high-ankle sprain, the belief was that Jones would be out for at least a month, but just two weeks after the injury, he's trending to potentially be available for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. While he's not a certainty to play, Jones was doubtful a week ago, so upgrading him to questionable could be a good sign for the Patriots, as he has been practicing all week long in hopes of a return in Week 6.

Only time will tell how he progresses with the injury and what the Patriots believe he can do on the field, but if New England can get their starter back, it gives them a much better chance of taking down the Browns and getting back to 3-3 on the season.
