Patriots QB Listed As Questionable For Week 7
The New England Patriots have seemingly found their groove over the past few weeks, winning back-to-back games with rookie Bailey Zappe in at Quarterback to bring their season record back to 3-3, but sooner or later, this team is going to need 2021 Pro Bowl QB Mac Jones back if they are to take the next step and challenge for a playoff spot in the crowded AFC this season.
It's been a few weeks since Jones was injured in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, suffering a high-ankle sprain that has kept him out ever since, but week by week, it appears that he is inching closer to a return. Ahead of their Week 7 matchup with the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, the Patriots have listed him as 'Questionable',

The second-year QB was off to a quiet, but solid start in 2022 before the injury, and after seeing increased production from Zappe over the past few weeks, the pressure will be on Mac to take this team to the next level when he eventually returns. He's been listed as questionable over the past few weeks, but hasn't yet returned, so this could mean nothing, but the fact that he has avoided Injured Reserve should be a positive sign that he can make it back soon.
New England have a tough schedule down the stretch, so they need to win games like this one if they are to make a run in 2022, and to do so, despite the hot start from Zappe, they'll need the experienced Jones under centre to make that happen.
