Panthers Name Starting QB For Week 9
Although the Carolina Panthers fell in a crucial divisional clash with the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8, their offence seems to be firing on all cylinders over the past two weeks, and while not all of that can be attributed to new starting Quarterback P.J. Walker, he's certainly been a huge part of the progress in recent weeks. D'Onta Foreman continued to emerge as a star in the Week 9 loss with over 100 yards rushing and 3 Touchdown's, but Walker again put in a solid performance, enough for interim Head Coach Steve Wilks to name him the starter for the Week 9 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.
While it may have been obvious based on the offensive output in Week 8, the team has both Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold now healthy and ready to go, so it's a good sign from Wilks that he is sticking with the hot hand, rather than going to the big names on the bigger money, as it's become clear that Walker gives this team the best chance to win.Panthers’ HC Steve Wilks told reporters today that P.J. Walker once again will start again vs. the Bengals.

Despite sitting at 2-6, the Panthers remain just two games out of first place in a dismal NFC South division, and if Walker continues to play well, they have a solid chance of making a run towards a division title, so right now, Wilks makes the right move by sticking with the hot hand.
