NFL Rumors: Three Teams Have Contacted Carolina About Star Linebacker
The Carolina Panthers have been arguably the worst team in the NFL through six weeks, and it's about to get worse for them, with a murky QB situation, as well as trading away two of their biggest offensive stars. With the trade deadline still over a week away, it's likely that a few more trades are on the way, with wide receiver D.J. Moore and pass rusher Brian Burns as players that other teams would absolutely love to acquire.
On that note, according to reports, the Panthers have received calls from Philadelphia, the LA Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs about Burns, and while it's not 100% that he either stays or goes, an anonymous General Manager in the NFL claimed that it would likely take at least two first-round picks to get a deal done. All three of those teams would be a perfect landing spot for Burns, who has been one of the best pass rushers in the game over his 4-year NFL career, racking up 29.5 sacks over that time.
A source revealed in the past week that the Panthers recently claimed Burns and Moore were both part of an 'untouchable' group that they believe can help lure an elite coach to Carolina and that they can build around, and with 9 days left until the deadline, we will see which way this goes in the coming days. The #Chiefs, #Eagles and #Rams have called the #Panthers about top pass-rusher Brian Burns, according to ESPN.
