NFL Rumors: Teams Calling San Francisco About Running Back
The San Francisco 49ers made the puzzling decision before Week 7 to trade for superstar running back Christian McCaffrey, and while the move itself isn't a bad one, it was puzzling because of how successful they've been on the ground, even without Elijah Mitchell. Now, that leaves the team with McCaffrey as its starter, and other teams now believe that Jeff Wilson is available, and have been calling the team about his availability, and reportedly, the team is listening and could make a deal happen.
Wilson has over 500 all purpose yards to begin the season in Mitchell's absence, with two trips to the end zone as well, and at this point, it appears the team are confident in McCaffrey, with Tyrion Davis-Price as the backup until Mitchell can return.NFL teams have called the #49ers about trading for RB Jeff Wilson, and the team is willing to listen to offers, per @JFowlerESPN

It's unclear what San Francisco can get in return, but with other small holes to fill, he could be a solid trade chip that this team can use to fill another spot, which could help a very realistic Super Bowl push in the NFC. It hasn't been confirmed either what teams have called San Francisco, but with the trade deadline just three days away, we will find out soon if the team can get a deal done.
