NFL Rumors: Lions Running Back Pushing to Return in Week 7
The Detroit Lions offense got off to a hot start in the early portion of the season, averaging 35 points per game across their first four games before a disastrous 29-0 beating at the hands of the New England Patriots. They should have their best running back return in Week 7 to help set them back on the right track. D'Andre Swift is apparently pushing to play in Sunday's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Swift has missed the Lions' previous two games with a shoulder sprain suffered in the team's Week 3 28-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Prior to his exit, he had totalled 308 yards from scrimmage in his three appearances, averaging an incredible 8.6 yards per rushing attempt.#Lions D'Andre Swift says he's "pushing towards" playing on Sunday in Dallas.

Swift's return should reignite the Lions' offense after a concerning performance against New England in Week 5. After scoring 140 points across their first four games, the Lions totalled a middling 312 yards on their way to zero points against the Patriots. Hopefully, Swift's return, as well as some bye-week soul searching, can get the Lions rolling again.

Swift joined the Lions as their 35th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft after three years with the Georgia Bulldogs. He immediately proved himself a capable runner and receiver out of the backfield, totalling 1947 yards from scrimmage over his first 26 appearances.
Should Swift return in Week 7, he'll face a stiff test against a Dallas Cowboys defense that has allowed the third-fewest points in the league.
