NFL 3 Stars For Week 5: Quarterbacks

The Quarterback position is the most important one in the NFL, perhaps in sports, and if a team can find an elite level QB, it changes the entire outlook of their entire franchise, with the Chiefs, Ravens and Bills all being perfect examples of this. While they can't be expected to step up and perform perfectly every week, there is plenty of pressure on their shoulders to win games, and while most starters were solid this past weekend, these are three names that stepped up and all performed well, leading their teams to great performances as a whole.

3. Geno Smith

Stat line: 16/25. 268 Yards, 3 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions, 3 Carries, 13 Yards.

At the start of the year, absolutely no one expected Geno Smith to be as good as he has been, but his play has resulted in the Seattle Seahawks becoming one of the most fun teams to watch in the entire league through five weeks. Smith was once again fantastic, even though the Seahawks fell to the New Orleans Saints, but he is playing smart football, not turning the ball over, and it's great to see the resurgence of a veteran like this in 2022.

2. Patrick Mahomes

Stat line: 29/43, 292 Yards, 4 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions, 4 Carries, 28 Yards.

Throughout his time as a starter, Patrick Mahomes has arguably been the best player in the entire NFL, and even without his favourite weapon over his career in Tyreek Hill, No. 15 has still been fantastic in leading Kansas City to a 4-2 start in 2022. He hooked up with Travis Kelce for 4 Touchdown passes on the night, and with the Chargers hot on the Chiefs trail, they needed to be great, and as usual, Mahomes was as brilliant as we've all seen him become.

1. Josh Allen

Stat line: 20/31, 424 Yards, 4 Touchdowns, 1 Interception, 5 Carries, 42 Yards.

The Buffalo Bills have the potential to be a Super Bowl winner in 2022, and if they can somehow put up the performance they do in Week 5 every week, there's absolutely no one that can stop them, and all of that hinges on the performance of No. 17, MVP candidate, Josh Allen. The team was fantastic in Week 5, dominating a poor Steelers team, and if he continues this combination with Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs, this offence will carry Buffalo a long way in 2022.
