New Ravens Receiver Not Expected To Be Active Tonight

The Baltimore Ravens came into the season with an obvious lack of weapons on the outside for outstanding Quarterback Lamar Jackson, and thus far, despite the injuries that have taken place all over this offence, they've not gone out to seek a huge trade for a big name, but instead, made a solid move to sign veteran free agent DeSean Jackson to boost this wide receiver group.

He was signed less than a week ago, and while no one expected him to play in the big divisional matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7, there was always a possibility he could be ready for the Thursday Night Football matchup this evening against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to NFL Reporter Mike Garafolo however, it looks like he won't be activated from the practice squad on the short week, and will instead get ready for Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.

This is a major indicator that Rashod Bateman, who is under an injury cloud, will be ready to go tonight, and when Jackson joins he, Mark Andrews and Devon Duvernay, this now becomes a very good group of weapons for Lamar. Still, expect Baltimore to make a small move or two at the deadline, and if they can get healthy, this could be a dark horse team to make a genuine run when the 2022 playoffs begin.
