Jaguars Rumors: 2 Potential Landing Spots For OLB Josh Allen
The Jacksonville Jaguars have reportedly received a surprisingly amount of calls for their standout pass-rusher Josh Allen, but seem reluctant to trade him as he remains a focal piece of their secondary for the future, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo.
In a scenario where Jacksonville does decide to the press eject on Allen, here are two potential teams that could definitely use the former No. 7 overall pick in 2019 to aid their defense this season.
Detroit Lions: The Lions are the worst team in the NFL right now as they head into Week 9 with a record of 1-6, but their poor record however, shouldn't reflect them offensively because they rank No. 8 in the league when scoring on opponents (24.7), but rather the opposite end of the field, on defense. They are currently ranked last in points allowed per game with 32.1 and with the addition of a stout offensive linebacker like Josh Allen, the Detroit club could reap huge benefits with his ability to stop opposing offensive plays before they take place.
Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals (3-5) could use a DE like Allen, who already has 12 QB hits this season, as they rank towards the bottom in the league at 29th in points allowed per game at 26.3. With the absence of edge rusher Chandler Jones, who left Arizona to sign with the Raiders this past offseason, Allen could definitely create positive change for the Cardinals lack of defensive play and could pair nicely alongside future Hall of Famer J.J. Watt to cause potential havoc against opposing offenses.
