Smith will undergo further testing including an MRI on Monday, but if it is indeed a high-ankle sprain then the tight-end will be forced to miss time.
If Smith does miss time, Jacob Hollister and Johnny Mundt could see their roles increased and see more playing time at the tight-end position.
Smith has three straight games with exactly four catches. Through Week 8, Smith has 22 catches for 168 yards and two touchdowns on 33 targets.
