Neal went down with what appeared to be an injury to his lower left leg. He appeared in significant pain. He refused assistance from a cart, eventually limping off the field under his own power. He was later declared out with a knee injury, indicating his injury may be severe enough to cost him future playing time as well.
Neal joined the Giants as their seventh overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft after a standout college career at Alabama. He had struggled so far to adjust to NFL play, earning a 49.0 overall grade from Pro Football Focus over his first six starts.
The Jaguars lead the Giants 11-10 mid-way through the second quarter.
