Dolphins Confirm Cornerback Tore His ACL, Out For The Season
The Miami Dolphins slide in 2022 continues, as the team fell to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6, sending their season record to 3-3 and a tie with the New England Patriots for third in the AFC East, and if the bad news couldn't get any worse for this talented young squad, they have now confirmed that talented young cornerback Nik Needham has torn his ACL, and will miss the rest of the 2022 season.
The 25-year old went un-drafted back in 2019, and has been with the Dolphins ever since, but with Xavien Howard and Byron Jones on the roster, he has been fighting to get consistent game time over the past few years. With Jones spending the start of the year on Injured Reserve, Needham has been given the change to play significant time, but unfortunately, during their Week 6 loss, the worst case scenario came true.#Dolphins CB Nik Needham has torn his Achilles, source said following the MRI. He’ll see a specialist tomorrow, but his season is over.

An MRI today confirmed that Needham's season is done, and it's hard to see after showing all that promise through the teams first six games, but it's safe to say that he's earned himself a future spot on this roster, despite the long road to recovery ahead.
