Detroit Lions Fire Defensive Backs Coach
The Detroit Lions have been one of the most interesting teams to watch in the NFL, but despite all of their incredible offensive performances, they've managed just one victory on the season through 8 weeks, due to their inability to stop pretty much anyone on the defensive side of the ball.
Beyond Aidan Hutchinson, who is having a solid rookie year, and second-year cornerback Jeff Okudah, this team is devoid of defensive talent, and today, the team has made a move because of their struggles, as they have officially fired their defensive backs coach, Aubrey Pleasant. Through 7 games, Detroit have held just one of their opponents under 25 points, with 4 of their games seeing over 30 points given up, which just isn't acceptable.

The team have plenty of confidence in Head Coach Dan Campbell and his ability to turn this franchise around, especially with the young talent that they have, but in order to do that, they'll need to perform better on the defensive side of the ball. Expect more changes to come in the coming weeks and months, but for now, the Lions have started to clear out their coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball.
