Cowboys Acquire Defensive Tackle From Las Vegas

Despite all the Quarterback changes in 2022, the Dallas Cowboys have remained one of the NFC's most solid and consistent teams, and now, with Dak Prescott back as the teams starter, they look poised and ready to go on a run to the playoffs in 2022. To do this, they'll need minor improvements to their depth, and today, they made a wise move, by acquiring Johnathan Hankins and a seventh round pick from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a 2023 sixth round pick.

Hankins, a 30-year old veteran in the NFL has played for the New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and Raiders since being drafted back in 2013, and while he's never quite lived up to the second-round billing, he has been a solid contributor to any team he's been on over that time. The veteran has accumulated 337 tackles, 14.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 8 passes defended, and with an already stellar defensive unit in Dallas, this is a solid veteran addition.

The team is 5-2 heading into Week 8, and are somehow looking up at two teams in the NFC East despite the fantastic record, but with their combination of veteran players and young stars, this is a team that has a change to make a genuine run in 2022.
