Chargers Star Receiver To Miss Time With Ankle Sprain
Los Angeles Chargers finally saw their star receiver Keenan Allen return from injury on Sunday for the first time since Week 1, but unfortunately their other key pass-catcher Mike Williams will now miss some time as well, after suffering a high ankle sprain in LA's Week 7 loss to the Seahawks (37-23), according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Williams injured his right ankle on the fourth down in the final quarter of Sunday's blowout defeat after landing awkwardly when he caught the ball. He was unable to put any weight on his right leg when he walked through the locker room with the help of a Chargers staffer.
Fortunately for the LA club they will receive a bye week before facing off against the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 6, this should give Williams ample time to recover before the final stretch of the 2022-23 season.
With the return of Allen, the Chargers should be able to stay the course of their above .500 record.
The Chargers suffered another blow on Sunday when cornerback J.C. Jackson was carted off the field with a non-contact knee injury. Head coach Brandon Stanley confirmed it to be a dislocated kneecap in his postgame presser and his timetable for return is currently unknown.
