In a corresponding move, DeAndre Hopkins was reinstated from his six-game suspension. The move also suggests that the Cardinals' regular starting kicker Matt Prater is nearing a return ahead of Thursday's game versus the New Orleans Saints. If not, however, Arizona will have to find another option at kicker.
This is the second time this season that Ammendola has been cut by an NFL team, having been released by the Kansas City Chiefs on September 26.
Ammendola has played four games this season, split between the Chiefs and Cardinals, hitting five-of-seven field goals and three-of-four extra points.
