Head coach Kevin Stefanski said earlier that Njoku could miss up to a month with his injury.
Njoku has enjoyed a nice breakout season with the Browns through the first seven weeks of the season, ranking second on the team in targets.
In total, Njoku has 34 catches for 418 yards and a touchdown on 42 targets this season.
Backup tight end Harrison Bryant could see an increased role with Njoku out in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
