Broncos Signing Running Back From Saints Practice Squad

The Denver Broncos suffered a major injury this past week in the loss against the Las Vegas Raiders, as it was confirmed that Javonte Williams tore his ACL during the game, meaning he will miss the rest of the 2022 season. Unfortunately for Denver, that leaves them with Melvin Gordon as the teams starter, and given his history with fumbles over the past year, that's not a safe place for them to be, so it's no surprise that the Broncos looked outside the organization for help on improving the running back position for the rest of the year.

Today, they did just that, adding Latavius Murray off the Saints practice squad to join Gordon and Mike Boone in the backfield, and while some may just see it as a depth signing, Murray showed on the weekend that he has the ability to still play a key role in an offence in 2022.

Murray ran the ball 11 times for 57 yards in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4, but added a Touchdown as well for New Orleans, and given his track record of production, he could no doubt help this team going forward. Williams is a massive loss and can't be easily replaced, but Murray brings a veteran, physical presence that this team needs, and should be very valuable for Denver going forward.
