Broncos QB Expected To Play MNF, Despite Shoulder Injury
The Denver Broncos should have their quarterback Russell Wilson on the field during their upcoming Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Wilson, who suffered a shoulder injury in the Broncos' 12-9 loss against the Indianapolis Colts last Thursday, is expected to play against their division rival and due to the extra time between TNF and MNF, the 33-year-old signal caller should be rehabbed adequately enough before kickoff.
"He should be ready to play," head coach Nathaniel Hackett said on Tuesday, according to team reporter Aric DiLalla.
"Broncos Country" currently resides with a 2-3 record while the Chargers lead second in the AFC West behind the Kansas City Chiefs at 3-2. This game could prove to be pivotal when playoff standings are decided later this season.
Denver is looking to prove doubters wrong Monday with their somewhat slow start to the season, as many were expecting Wilson, who signed a 5 year, $242 million extension in the offseason, to change life in Colorado, which has not remotely happened yet.
