Broncos Officially Name Starting QB For Week 7
The Denver Broncos have struggled mightily on the offensive side of the ball in 2022, with a disappointing start for 9-time Pro Bowl Quarterback Russell Wilson, and today, the team announced that they'll have a different man under centre in Week 7 as the team look to rebound against a very talented 4-2 New York Jets team.
Russell Wilson has been dealing with a hamstring issue all week long, and was considered a game-time decision as late as yesterday, but today, the team officially announced that backup Brett Rypien will start against New York, as they wanted to give Wilson time to heal his injury, which will be re-assessed during the week ahead of a trip to London in Week 8.While Russell Wilson wanted to play despite a hamstring injury and did everything he could to play, the Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett will hold back the 9-time Pro Bowl QB vs. the Jets to allow him to heal and prevent a lingering injury, per sources.

Rypien has had one start in his NFL career thus far, and it came against these New York Jets back in 2020, but with a 4-2 start and plenty of young talent, this isn't the same old Jets they saw last time. The Denver defence has been fantastic all year long, but with QB struggles, this team haven't been able to pick up the momentum they'd like, but now, with another QB under centre, they get their chance to finally get rolling.
