Broncos Confirm Linebacker's ACL Tear

The Denver Broncos have been one of the NFL's biggest disappointments in 2022, and with yet another loss in primetime and another poor performance from Russell Wilson, things certainly aren't looking good for a team that had genuine Super Bowl aspirations before the year began. Things got worse last night however, as linebacker Aaron Patrick is confirmed to have torn his ACL during the game, and it will mark the end of his 2022/23 season.

The 25-year old was un-drafted back in 2020, and in limited time with the Jaguars and Broncos, he looks like a solid depth piece that could help the team for years to come, but unfortunately, he'll play no further part in 2022. The injury occurred when he ran over the sideline, and in an attempt to stop, seemingly innocently collided with a member of the TV crew, but devastatingly, he grabbed at his knee immediately, and knew something was wrong.

The team confirmed the news today, and with a big hole to climb out of in the AFC West, something will need to change, and while the defence has been great, the offence has been abysmal, and if a playoff berth is still on the cards, Wilson will need to be at his best for the rest of the year.
