Eberflus coached Fountain when he was with the Indianapolis Colts.
Fountain will get a chance to compete for an emergency reserve role with the Bears after having begun the 2022 season on the Chiefs practice squad.
Fountain was elevated from the Chiefs' practice squad in Week 1, but he did not play a snap in the game. The fifth-year receiver has recorded just two receptions for 23 yards in his career and has not been targeted since his 2020 season when he played for the Indianapolis Colts.
He'll look to work his way up from the practice squad with the Bears.
