49ers Release Wide Receiver
The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday that they have released wide receiver Willie Snead IV.
The 49ers signed Snead from their practice squad to the 53-man roster on Monday, the day they defeated the Los Angeles Rams 24-9. He was active for the outing but did not play any snaps.
Snead made nine appearances in total last season as a member of the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders, respectively. He hauled in four passes for 38 yards.
The 29-year-old joined San Francisco during training camp in August and has been in and out of the practice squad ever since.
It is possible he goes back to the club's practice squad unit after his recent release from the official roster.
