49ers Activate Veteran Cornerback From PUP List
The San Francisco 49ers season has been an up and down one full of injuries, but with the new acquisition of Christian McCaffrey and stars like Nick Bosa and Trent Williams getting healthy, it appears that this team is primed and ready to go on a run in the second half of 2022. They will be getting a major boost this week too as it appears, as veteran cornerback Jason Verrett has been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list, meaning that this secondary and potentially elite defensive unit will get some more help, along with a veteran presence and leader.
The former first-round pick has been with San Francisco for the past three years, and despite playing just 15 games due to injury, he can be a real help to this team for a playoff run in 2022 if he can finally stay healthy. Throughout his career, Verrett has racked up 145 tackles, 26 passes defended, 7 Interceptions and 1 defensive Touchdown, and his experience alone is going to help this very talented secondary.#49ers CB Jason Verrett has been activated from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List.

They signed RB Tevin Coleman to the practice squad.
Despite sitting at 4-3 through seven weeks, the 49ers are just two games out of first place, and with plenty of divisional games to go, this is a race that could go down to the wire, and if Jimmy G can be solid for this team and the defence gets healthy, they could be a very scary squad come playoff time.
