In return, the Panthers get a 2nd round pick in 2023, a third-rounder in 2023, and a fourth-round pick in 2023. Plus a fifth-rounder in 2024.
Wow.
The 49ers go all-in, getting a deal done for one of the most elite talents in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Panthers load up on draft picks, as the team continues to clean house. One would imagine the team is preparing for a potential quarterback move in this coming draft. They certainly have the draft picks available.
McCaffrey is going from the least-coherent offense in the NFL to arguably the best-designed rushing attack, one that is never shy about targeting their running backs. Especially with Jimmy Garoppolo as QB.
The 49ers now have Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell, once he returns from his injury. They are ready to go
