Seahawks Star Safety's Season Likely Over
The Seattle Seahawks had a big upset on Monday Night Football over their former Quarterback Russell Wilson, and while plenty of the talk will revolve around No. 3 and the quality play of new Seahawks starting QB Geno Smith, there was a devastating injury that took place in this football game. Star safety Jamal Adams went down with a knee injury, and Seattle weren't optimistic after the game, and today, it appears that Adams season is over before it could truly begin.
While he's going to get scans today to assess the official severity of the injury, it's likely that he's torn a quad, and speaking on Seattle radio today, head coach Pete Carroll confirmed it was a serious injury, saying his heart breaks for Adams. No matter what you think of him, Adams is a great player, and it's heartbreaking to see this happen to a player in their prime, and given the history of this injury, it's 99% likely that he won't be back in 2022.#Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says on @SeattleSports that safety Jamal Adams will need "to get some work done" after injuring his knee Monday night. "I know it's serious and it just breaks your heart."

The Seahawks got a massive boost from their Week 1 win, and could go on to be a fun team and win some games in 2022, but unfortunately, that's going to happen without Adams, who was acquired from the Jets back in 2020, who will hopefully be back stronger than ever in 2023.
