San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Trey Lance Carted Off the Field
The San Francisco 49ers may have just been dealt a blow that could send shockwaves across the NFC. Quarterback Trey Lance was knocked out of the team's game against the Seattle Seahawks after what looks to be a severe leg injury.
Lance suffered an awkward collision that twisted his leg on a designed run. He struggled to stand, but could not leave the field under his own power. He was helped onto a cart where an air-cast was quickly applied. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo took over for the 49ers as Lance was driven to the locker room.Trey Lance has been carted off the field with an apparent leg injury

Lance will not return today, and all early indications are he is looking at a long road to recovery. Garoppolo will run the offense for the foreseeable future, taking back the reins for a unit he led to the NFC Championship game last postseason. The 49ers very nearly parted ways with the quarterback this offseason, but he'll have a chance now to reestablish his value before heading into free agency in 2023.
