Predicting The NFC East Standings In 2022

The NFC East is shaping up to be one of the NFL's most intriguing divisions in 2022, and while there's a clear favourite, the rest of the pack is going to fight it out for a Wild Card spot, which may or may not be available for them. All 4 teams certainly have some questions surrounding them, but overall, each team is very solid and has their positives too, but which teams are going to rise above and make some noise in 2022, and which are going to fall by the wayside as everyone in the league looks for a Lombardi Trophy to add to the case?

4. New York Giants

The New York Giants certainly have some talent and the pieces to win a few games in 2022, but former General Manager Dave Gettleman left this team in a really bad way, and unfortunately for New York fans, it will take a few years for this team to become competitive once again. Daniel Jones is still yet to prove himself at the NFL level, and until that happens or the team finds a QB that they can be confident in, this is a team that will be without direction, and will struggle to keep pace in the NFC East.

3. Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders aren't necessarily bad, and they certainly have some young talent on this team, but the return of Carson Wentz to the NFC East just doesn't move the needle quite enough for them to become a force in the NFC in 2022. Sure, they made the playoffs in recent years with lesser names at QB, but looking throughout the conference, there's just too much talent around, and it's going to lead Washington to another solid, but ultimately unfruitful season.

2. Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys each and every year have to deal with the weight of enormous expectations, and after blowing yet another Wild Card game last year, the expectation and pressure continues to grow on this team to mark a deep run through the postseason. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot are both back to help this team, and while the Eagles are clearly the better team in the NFC East, a Wild Card run for the Cowboys could be a big possibility, especially if the likes of CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup take the next step on the outside.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

The argument can be made that the Philadelphia Eagles are the deepest team in the entire NFL, and if Jalen Hurts can go from good, promising young QB to the star many expect him to become, the Eagles are going to be a genuine Super Bowl threat in 2022. The addition of AJ Brown will add a whole new layer to this offence, and with a defence that's improving every year, if Philly can stay healthy, there's no doubt that they are far and away the best team in the NFC East.
