Packers Linebacker Injury Confirmed, Will Only Miss A Few Weeks
The Green Bay Packers were embarrassed by the division rival Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, and the news on the injury front isn't good for them either, as they were already missing stud tackle David Bakhtiari, but now suffered injuries to three defensive players. One of those was linebacker Krys Barnes, who was carted off the field with an air cast on, and anyone watching the game and especially the Packers organization believed it was a very serious, potentially season ending injury.
Barnes joined the Packers as an un-drafted free agent back in 2020, and in two seasons with the team, has played in 29 games of a possible 33, recording 161 tackles, two sacks, 4 passes defended and 1 forced fumble with two fumble recoveries, and was expected to play a huge role on this team in 2022. Thankfully though, the injury on the weekend was a high ankle sprain, and according to Green Bay, he will be able to make a full return to the team in 2022, which will provide this talented defence with much needed depth and manpower.#Packers LB Krys Barnes, who was carted off Sunday with his right leg in an aircast, is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain and calf injury, per source. He’ll miss some time, but the initial hope is he could be back in a few weeks.

The Packers will need to turn it around quickly if they are to compete in the NFC North with Minnesota, and if the injuries keep lining up, that may be hard to do, but this is good news for Green Bay, who expected a long-term injury with Barnes, who could now be back before the mid point of the 2022 NFL campaign.
