NFL Week 3 Quarterbacks: 3 Stars
Week 3 of the 2022 season was all about last minute drama, as no less than 5 games on Sunday were decided very late in the piece, and as always, those big moments and huge drives late in games, and the pending result come from having great performances at the QB position. Although none of the following three names were involved in those late, dramatic results, they all put up fantastic numbers and led their teams to big victories, and while it may not keep up, there's certainly a trend that we see with the top QB performances each week.
3. Trevor Lawrence
Stat line: 28/39, 262 Yards, 3 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions.
The Jacksonville Jaguars shocked the NFL world in Week 2 when they upset the Colts 24-0, but a week later, on the arm of Trevor Lawrence, they dominated the Los Angeles Chargers to take first place in the AFC South. Lawrence wasn't perfect, but he's clearly developing the way Jacksonville would have hoped, and if he can keep this up, there's no reason why this team can't continue on their way to the division crown in 2022.
2. Lamar Jackson
Stat line: 18/29, 218 Yards, 4 Touchdown's, 1 Interception, 11 carries, 107 Yards, 1 Touchdown.
Lamar Jackson is arguably the front runner for MVP of the league right now, as he put up another scintillating performance with his arm and his legs in Week 3 en route to a win over the Patriots, sending the Ravens to 2-1 and a tie for first place in the AFC North with the Browns. Despite the 1 turnover, Jackson again accounted for over 300 yards of offence and 5 Touchdown's, and after his third straight impressive performance, at this point, MVP should be Jackson's award to lose.
1. Jalen Hurts
Stat line: 22/35, 340 Yards, 3 Touchdown's, 0 Interceptions.
The Philadelphia Eagles are one of two undefeated teams left in the NFL, and considering just how deep they are on both sides of the ball, it's safe to say that they'll be a heavyweight in the NFC all the way through to the playoffs. They're good defensively, but it's the offence, behind star QB Jalen Hurts that can really take them to the next level, and in a complete decimation of the Washington Commanders, he was nearly perfect in Week 3.
