NFL Week 2 Quarterbacks: 3 Stars
Week 2 of the 2022 NFL season has come and gone, and it was one of the most wild weeks in NFL history, as we saw some amazing plays, great performances and absurd games, most notably with three incredible comebacks that somehow all happened on the same day. As usual, amazing Quarterback performances were at the centre of it all, and despite there being at least 10 amazing showings across the league this week, we've had to narrow it down to three, so here are your three stars at the QB position for Week 2 of the 2022 NFL campaign.
Honorable Mentions: Joe Flacco, Justin Herbert.
3. Josh Allen
Stat Line: 26/38, 317 Yards, 4 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions.
Josh Allen has become one of, if not the single best Quarterbacks in the NFL over the past few years, and the best way to see this rise is that a game of over 300 yards with a 4/0 TD:INT ratio has become normal for Allen, but he still had a fantastic game. The Bills ran over the Tennessee Titans en route to a 2-0 start that has them looking like Super Bowl favourites, and if Allen continues to do this on a weekly basis, there's no reason why he shouldn't be a clear MVP favourite.
2. Lamar Jackson
Stat Line: 21/29, 318 Yards, 3 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions, 9 Carries, 119 Yards, 1 Touchdown.
Lamar Jackson has been constantly criticized throughout his time in the NFL, but at this point, there's few reasons to doubt him, as he continues to blaze a path that will make him the best dual threat QB in history, as he's on pace to easily surpass the likes of Michael Vick and Cam Newton. In this game, Jackson became the first QB in NFL history to have a passing TD and a rushing TD of over 75 yards in the same game, and after two weeks, it's safe to say Jackson is worthy of a big time deal.
1. Tua Tagovailoa
Stat Line: 36/50. 469 Yards, 6 Touchdowns, 2 Interceptions.
Plenty of talk during the 2022 off-season was about how Tua Tagovailoa would react to the wide receiver core of Jaylen Waddle and the newly acquired Tyreek Hill, and two weeks into the NFL season, it's clear that Tua can be as good as the Dolphins believe. This week, Miami went down early to the Baltimore Ravens, and that's when he turned it on, and with a great defence on the other side of the ball, this could be a sign of things to come for just how good the Miami Dolphins can be in 2022.
