NFL Rumors: Saints Quarterback Jameis Winston Could Miss Week 4
The New Orleans Saints might not have all that jolly a time in England in Week 4. After missing his third straight practice, Saints quarterback Jameis Winston is expected to miss his team's international game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Winston joined the Saints in 2020 following a four-year stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former first-overall pick took over for Saints legend Drew Brees in 2021 after a year on the bench and kicked off the season on a hot streak, winning five of his seven starts and managing a 102.8 passer rating. The Saints hoped he could pick up where he left off following last year's ACL tear, but his old propensity for mistakes has reared its head the previous two weeks: Winston has thrown a league-leading five interceptions and fumbled three times.

Winston is dealing with ankle and back issues accumulated over the previous three weeks. The quarterback initially injured his back in the team's Week 1 win against the Atlanta Falcons but had been playing through the pain. The Saints have struggled on offense since that season-opening victory, scoring 24 total points and turning the ball eight times in two weeks. If Winston is unavailable, he'll be replaced in the starting lineup by Andy Dalton. Dalton is 7-8 in his previous 15 starts.
