NFL Rumors: Bears Running Back In Danger Of Missing Week 4
The Chicago Bears have gotten off to a great start in 2022, with a 2-1 record that includes a big time upset over the San Francisco 49ers, even with the inconsistent play of their starting running back, David Montgomery. Montgomery struggled in Week 3 before being taken out of the game due to an injury, but his replacement, Khalil Herbert has been solid in three games so far, rushing for 240 yards and 3 Touchdown's, and there's a good chance that he gets the start on Sunday against the New York Giants.
At this point, it seems to be just a matter of time until Herbert takes over as the full-time starter, but given his experience with the Bears, they seem to be content with Montgomery continuing in his current role. Unfortunately for David, he once again didn't practice on Thursday, and with just three days before game-time, the situation seems to be trending towards Herbert taking the starting role in Chicago.
Montgomery has been very solid in his three years at the NFL level, but in 2022, he just hasn't gotten it going yet, and if he can't stay on the field, there's a very good chance that he loses his starting job, but remains an important piece for this Bears franchise going forward.Bears RB David Montgomery (ankle/knee) did not practice again on Thursday.
