NFL Reveals Week 3 Players of the Week
The NFL announced its Week 3 Players of the Week Wednesday morning, and they include some new faces young and old.
In the AFC, second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence wins the offensive award for the first time for his 262-yard, three-touchdown performance in his team's 38-10 dismantling of the Los Angeles Chargers. On the defensive side, edge rusher Trey Hendrickson takes home the award for his 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles against the New York Jets in the Cincinnati Bengals' first win of the season.AFC Players of the Week! In the NFC, running back/wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson wins for the first time in his 10-year career for his 141 rushing yards and 8.29 yards per attempt in the Atlanta Falcon's 27-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. On defense, edge rusher Brandon Graham earns recognition for his 2.5 sacks in the Philadelphia Eagles' 24-8 demolition of the Washington Commanders, a game that saw the Eagles sack Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz an incredible nine times.NFC Players of the Week! On special teams, Denver Broncos punter Corliss Waitman wins for his 47.6 average on 10 punts in his team's narrow 11-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers. In the NFC, Green Bay Packers Punter Pat O'Donnell gets the nod for placing five punts inside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 20-yard line in his team's 14-12 win.
