Kansas City Chiefs Kicker Out For Week 3

The Kansas City Chiefs have put together one of the most high-octane, prolific offence's the NFL has ever seen in recent years under Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, and one phase of that which often goes undervalued is the consistent performance of kicker Harrison Butker. Thankfully for the Chiefs, it doesn't appear to be a serious injury, but the team is taking precautions this early in the season, and have a more than capable backup in the form of former Jets kicker, Matt Amendola.

With the Colts up next, who have struggled mightily in 2022, the Chiefs should naturally put up plenty of points, but if it comes down to it, we've seen just how important kickers have been thus far in 2022, and therefore, the Chiefs will put their full belief into Ammendola. He went 2-2 on field goals and 3-3 on extra points in the Week 2 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and while he won't take Butker's job, he's been solid with every chance he's gotten so far in the NFL.

It's only a matter of time until Butker, the Chiefs kicker since 2017, who remains the second most accurate kicker in NFL history returns, but until then, it's safe to say that Kansas City are in solid hands, and should be able to handle the Colts on Sunday.
