Detroit Lions Running Back Misses Practice
The Detroit Lions might be without their biggest star from Week 1. ESPN's Field Yates shared that running back D'Andre Swift missed Wednesday's practice with an injury to his ankle:

The injury comes following an amazing effort in the team's Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in which Swift rushed for an amazing 144 yards on only 15 carries and added another 31 yards on three receptions. He was still present deep into the fourth quarter for the Lions, handling the ball four times on the team's last drive. Should he be unavailable, the Lions will likely rely more heavily on running back Jamaal Williams in their Week 2 game against the Washington Commanders.

Swift joined the Lions as their 35th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. An explosive two-way back out of Georgia, he has accumulated 1282 rushing yards at an excellent 4.6 yards per attempt across his two-year career, adding another 840 yards through the air. His astounding 9.6 yards per rushing attempt in Week 1 led the NFL. The Lions have games against the Commanders, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks in the coming weeks.
