Cleveland Browns Star Continues To Shine Off The Field
Myles Garrett is one of the most talented defensive players in the entire NFL, and because of his tenacity, intensity and sometimes over the top play on the field, many get the wrong impression about the former No. 1 overall pick. When watching him play, that can be true at times, but off the field, Garrett has shown to be a fantastic person for the city and community of Cleveland, and this week, he was rewarded with the NFLPA Community MVP of Week 1 award.
Garrett spent back-to-back days hosting events for The United Way in Cleveland, and even went as far as to fill each and everyone of their backpacks with essentials, as well as lunch bags and offering hair cuts in order to prepare kids for the coming school year ahead. “It is an honor to be named the NFLPA Community MVP,” Garrett said in a press release. “From a very young age, my family taught me that helping other people is not just the nice thing to do; it’s the right thing to do.”#Browns Myles Garrett is spending the morning with the United Way, filling backpacks with supplies for local kids, sending them home with lunchbags and providing them with haircuts—helping them get ready for the new school year. pic.twitter.com/UwX7JX798F

In honor of Garrett being named the Community MVP, the NFLPA will make a $10,000 contribution to his charity or foundation of choice. Along with the other 2022 Community MVPs that will be announced each week, Garrett will also be eligible for the 2022 Alan Page Community Award.
