Cleveland Browns Sign Veteran Offensive Lineman

The Cleveland Browns have had a lot to deal with this off-season, and one story that has flown under the radar is the lack of confidence in the health of tackle Jack Conklin, so today, the team added veteran offensive lineman Joe Haeg, who is capable of filling in at both guard and tackle.

Haeg has spent the majority of his six year career in Indianapolis, where he started 35 of 55 games played, and while he won't come into the team this late in the off-season and steal a roster spot, he's going to be fantastic depth for Conklin and throughout the rest of the season. This Browns team certainly have their eyes focused on a Super Bowl in 2022, and while this isn't a move to secure a Lombardi Trophy, it will help the depth of the team as they look to protect Jacoby Brissett until Deshaun Watson returns from an 11-game suspension.

Conklin isn't expected to miss any significant time, but in case he or anyone else along this fairly solid offensive line do get injured, Haeg can step in and provide solid production, while not being overly outstanding at the position.
