Bills Rookie Cornerback Suffers Hand Injury
The Bills suffered their first loss of 2022 in a controversial battle with their division rivals the Miami Dolphins in Week 3, and while it certainly makes for plenty of headlines, there were some underlying circumstances that no doubt contributed to the result of this game. The Bills were missing no less than four defensive starters, and coming out of the game, it looks like one of the players that stepped in as a replacement has also been injured, which is another terrible sign for the Bills.
The 22-year old Christian Benford was drafted in the 6th round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and through two games, he's been mightily impressive in his playing time, but the Bills today had to announce that he suffered a fractured hand during the game that saw Buffalo drop to 2-1.#Bills CB Christian Benford suffered a fractured hand on Sunday, source said. It's unclear yet how much time this will cause the rookie to miss, but if Buffalo can't begin to get healthy, this defence could be taken advantage of over the next few weeks. Either way, through three games, Benford has 6 tackles and 1 pass deflection, and has been playing his role for one of the AFC's Super Bowl favourites, and if he can get back on the field soon, the Bills may have found themselves a solid starter.
