49ers Running Back Ruled Out Due To Injury
It's been noted how horrendous the weather is in Chicago for the Week 1 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears, and in the sloppy affair, the 49ers will have to hold the lead in the second half of a very wet matchup without their star running back Elijah Mitchell. Mitchell has been ruled out for the remainder of the game with a knee injury, and for a game that will be based on the ground due to the weather, this is very bad news.
No further news has come through about how severe the injury is, but for Week 1 with young QB Trey Lance trying to find his first win in 2022 as the teams starter, losing Mitchell won't help at all. He's still got the jack of all trades in Deebo Samuel, but without George Kittle before the game begins, this is a good test for Lance and this very talented Niners offence early in the year.#49ers RB Elijah Mitchell has been declared out with a knee injury.

With the weather, injuries were always a big time risk, and unfortunately for San Francisco, their injury troubles over the past few years has continued, so fingers crossed for the 49ers and Mitchell that the injury isn't severe, and that he can return in Week 2.
