Vikings Listening To Trade Offers On Running Back

The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best running backs in the league in the form of Dalvin Cook, and given his injury history, it makes sense that his backup will get a lot of time in the game. In 2021, that's what happened with Alexander Mattison, who was able to compile over 700 yards of total offence with 4 Touchdown's in the 4 games that Cook missed, and given that he's in a contract year and Cook is expected to be healthy yet again, it makes sense if the Vikings would be happy to move on.

While the team may not be actively trying to trade him, according to reports, at least 12 teams have called on Mattison, who could be a very versatile back for any team in the league, especially one that rotates between two backs a lot. A trade won't be easy, as Minnesota is potentially looking for a third or fourth round pick in exchange for a back that will want to be paid a significant raise after the 2022/23 season, but it may be worth it for a team in need.

A trade isn't exactly imminent, as many see Mattison as a player that can contribute to this Vikings team and take some stress off the back of Dalvin Cook, and if used properly, could form a lethal combination. However, Minnesota is listening, and if a team comes to the table with the right deal, they believe it might be in the best interest of the future of the Vikings team.
