Update on Minnesota Viking Rookie Cornerback Injury
Minnesota Vikings fans can breathe a little easier this morning. Rookie cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. avoided major injury in Saturday's 17-7 preseason loss to the San Fransisco 49ers, according to the Star Tribune's Ben Goessling:
Kevin O’Connell said Andrew Booth aggravated an ankle injury, but he said the #Vikings are hopeful they could get him back this week.

Booth Jr. went down awkwardly in Saturday's game, and the non-contact nature of the injury had spectators worrying he'd hurt his knee. But Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell eased concerns this week by explaining that Booth Jr. had merely aggravated an existing ankle injury and that the team hoped the cornerback might be back this week.

Drafted 42nd overall out of Clemson in this year's NFL draft, Booth Jr. was expected to contribute to a Vikings secondary that allowed the 28th most passing yards in the league last year. The Vikings will need him back sooner than later, as they open the season against the Green Bay Packers and league MVP Aaron Rodgers on September 11th.
