San Francisco 49ers Release Wide Receiver
The cuts are coming in fast and furious around the league today. The San Francisco 49ers are releasing wide receiver Willie Snead, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reports:

Snead shocked the NFL when he debuted with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent during the 2015 season, tallying 984 receiving yards on an efficient 9.7 yards per target as a rookie. But he never topped that initial campaign, and he has failed to exceed 500 yards in each of his past three seasons.

According to sources, the 49ers hope to sneak Snead onto their practice squad. Given the fact he only managed 38 yards last year splitting time between the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco has a pretty solid chance of retaining the receiver.
